Hi All!
Well, last Wednesday certainly proved a fantastic start to the CAO program! Thanks for your great participation and your focus. Thanks too for your outlines...I definitely enjoyed reading them very much, and I was thrilled with the vivid imagination the classes put into each class. My thought was, though, that the stories are fairly detailed, and it may be necessary to pare them down a bit later on (I'll trust Robbie's expertise on that).
For tomorrow, I'll be leading the class and looking at songwriting. We'll examine some of the ways songs can be used in the context of story, and then we'll try to figure some points in each story where songs could be used. Then, we'll look at rhyme scheme and rhythm in poetry so that you will have all the tools needed to get working on the songs. We'll also look at some opera arias from the Days of Yore, to give the students an idea of opera in the past, before they start making the "opera of the future!"
I would be happy to meet with the teachers over lunch hour and discuss the program. It would be great to have an opportunity to discuss the possibility of linking the stories, etc.
Congratulations on some fine work last week, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow!
